Students at Timber Point reveled in a special series of “A Day at the Races” activities during their Field Day celebration on June 4. Fun activities included an obstacle course; a giant egg and spoon competitions; and box car, rubber chicken, ice cream cone and potato sack relay races.

According to teacher Patricia Bush, the events were more than just fun, but provided health benefits for the youngsters, including cardiovascular fitness, hand-eye coordination, agility, balance and strength.

At the conclusion of each session, the tired young athletes enjoyed well-earned ice pops provided by the school’s PTA.
