Honoring Virtual Business Acumen

Six students at the high school’s Business Career Academy – Haley Abesamis, Alaina Daly, Melissa Marra, Michelle Suter, Sean Touhy and Crystal Vessalico – represented East Islip’s VE Connected firm at the annual Virtual Enterprises International business plan competition this January, and were selected to move on to the semifinal round in February at the Americana Financial Portfolio in Ronkonkoma.

“Our firm showcased its product line and how it planned to continue to grow as a company while looking for new ways to expand in the future,” said Career Academy Director Israel Malinowitzer. “Business teacher Nancy Kiernan has done an amazing job preparing these students for all these competitions and events throughout the year.”

The six VE Connected students were honored at the April 21 meeting of the East Islip Board of Education.
