Danielle Flaumenhaft was recently announced as the new principal of Connetquot, replacing Dr. Deborah Smith, who shifted over to JFK.

Flaumenhaft had previously served as an assistant principal at Setauket Elementary School in the Three Village Central School District in Setauket since July 2014.  Before that, she worked as an assistant principal at New Lane Elementary School in the Middle Country School District in Selden from 2013-2014, and an acting assistant principal and literacy coach at South County Central School District in Bellport from 2005-2013. She taught as an adjunct professor at Dowling College in Oakdale from 2003-2005, and as a fifth-grade teacher at Lawrence School District from 1996-2003 and Boston Public Schools from 1995-1996.

A Sayville resident, Flaumenhaft earned her bachelor’s degree in education from SUNY Cortland in 1991, a master’s degree in education from Boston University in 1995, a master’s degree in literacy from Dowling College in 2003, and an advanced graduate certificate in administration from Stony Brook University in 2010.

“In the short time I have been here, I have been impressed with how caring and kind everyone is at Connetquot,” said Flaumenhaft. “The school is truly a happy place for learning, and I look forward to working with the parents, the families and the children.”
