East Islip Middle School's student government and National Junior Honor Society are hosting Movie Night this Friday, March 2 in the middle school auditorium.

The event, which runs from 6:45 p.m. to 9:45 p.m., is a fundraiser for seventh-grader Kyle Engblom, who was recently diagnosed with a very rare genetic disease. This condition – a neuromuscular degenerative disease that affects the functioning of his nerves and muscles – is so uncommon that Engblom is the only person in the nation afflicted with it.

Kyle Engblom's dream is to swim with the dolphins at Atlantis in the Bahamas, and all proceeds from the event will be donated to him so that his wish can be fulfilled.

Tickets for Movie Night are $5 each, on sale all week during all lunch periods. Students must have a signed permission slip to buy a ticket. After the movie, snacks will be available for purchase. There will also be a Chinese auction.
