East Islip Middle School held its fifth annual Breakfast of Champions on the morning of March 8, honoring sixth- and seventh-grade students who demonstrated the “Six Pillars of Character” during the 2011-2012 school year. Each of the honorees was selected by a team or department at the middle school.
For the sixth grade, the students recognized were Thomas Allen, Jenna Anderson, Taylor Anderson, Claudia Banville, Sarah Bast, Zachary Calarco, Gregory Cassiano, James Daley, Dominique Degener, Michael Drywa, Kerri Kolensky, Stone Locke, Kaitlyn MacIntosh, Evan Mauner, Bailey Nelson and Stephanie Sokol.
For the seventh grade, the students recognized were Brittney Berke, Amanda Carey, Kaitlyn D’Amico, Michael Deehan, Michael Dondero, Nina Filippone, Andrew Fusco, Zachery Goess, Courtney Greene, Nicholas Guarino, Emma Hillman, Kevin McNulty, Nicole Mueller, Meghan O’Reilly, Dominick Pandolfo, Michael Quast, Mia Tassa, Nicholas Thomas and Skyler Virginia.
The ceremony began with greetings from Assistant Principal Janet Jones. Principal Mark Bernard and Assistant Principal Christian Seifert then presented each of the honorees with a certificate and lanyard. Breakfast was served upon completion of the ceremony, enjoyed by the students, their families and the middle school’s staff members.
