“Once Upon a Lily Pad” at Timber Point

Frogs, alligators, turtles, fireflies and birds were all out in force at Timber Point Elementary. The school’s annual production of “Once Upon a Lily Pad” was held at the café on March 30, performed by the costume-clad classes of Janis Harrington, Carla Kellachan and Cheryl Bennett.

Over the course of several weeks, art teacher Christina Spera directed the first-graders in the creation of a stunning set design for the play, which tells the story of a young frog trying to find his place in a big pond. Continuing the collaborative arts effort, music teacher Patricia DeRosa-Padden (who played piano for the production) and the students practiced the musical’s songs during their classes.
