East Islip High School Video Wins at LI Media Arts Show

East Islip High School students in technology education teacher James Connell’s video production and broadcast television classes attended the Long Island Media Arts Show on March 20 and came away with a win in the video animation category. Brendan Bullard, Brian Potter and David Tekverk’s “Slap Stick Figures” was selected as “Best in Show” at the annual event, held at Five Towns College in Dix Hills.

“I really enjoyed the Long Island Media Arts Show this year,” said Tekverk. “It's always been a great tradition for students in the video courses here at East Islip High School. I am glad Mr. Connell has been carrying on the same traditions that Mr. Hodges started and continued over the years."

Other East Islip broadcast television students who presented videos at the Media Arts Show were Hunter Canavan, Jason Killian, Ozan Kirman, Rose Labrys, Scott Quinn and Tarkan Takil.
