Earth Day Walk at JFK
Students, faculty and staff members of John F. Kennedy Elementary School participated in an Earth Day Walk on a bright and sunny April 20, accompanied by a large, happy crowd of parents, friends, bicyclists and puppies. Each class created personalized environmental-themed banners to display for the event.
“We celebrated with a walk down Woodland Drive, onto Sandpiper and Quail Run, and back through the playground,” said Principal Aileen O’Rourke. At the walk’s conclusion, JFK students demonstrated jump rope skills and led the audience in a joyous version of Louis Armstrong’s standard “What a Wonderful World,” promising to go green and keep the earth clean.
