Students in Kim Loeffler’s class at John F. Kennedy Elementary recently completed an annual biography project. After selecting a prominent person who has made an impact on our daily lives – whether today or in the past – they read the person’s biography. The students then wrote a report and created a “biography can” in the person's likeness. Parents were then invited to Loeffler’s classroom to hear the children's reports and view their cans. In a final public stage of the project, the class proudly displayed the biography cans at JFK’s front desk.
“It has been a fun and creative way to introduce them to the genre of biographies,” explained Loeffler. “Every year I am always so proud of each child's effort and creativity towards this project.”
