Shortstop Zenk to Play for UMass
East Islip High School senior Lindsey Zenk has signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball for the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
A highly-esteemed public research university, UMass Amherst is the largest and oldest of the UMass system's five
campuses, and is the biggest public university in New England.
Zenk could not be happier with her college choice, or the chance to play for the university's team, the Minutewomen. "I chose UMass because of its solid academic reputation and good location," she said, "and for the opportunity to be a part of a successful Division I softball program."
The East Islip varsity shortstop, who hasn't decided on her major field of study yet, has been playing softball for 13 years.
