Dear Parents and Guardians:

The safety and welfare of our students and staff are our highest priorities. Our schools consistently practice emergency response procedures in order to comply with the New York State Department of Education mandate.

This notice is sent to inform all families that our school district will conduct its annual emergency “Go Home Early” drill on Friday, April 12. Please be advised that students will be dismissed 15 minutes early on this day. Please make appropriate arrangements for the early arrival of your children back home as a result of this drill and provide alternative plans if no one will be at home.

Additionally, the afterschool program will begin 15 minutes earlier than usual and will end at 6 p.m. All after school activities and sporting events will proceed as scheduled.

The goals of the training drill are to improve our ability to protect students, save lives and reduce injuries. It allows us to evaluate our emergency operations plan and improve our response skills.

If you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to call your child’s school office.

Very truly yours,

John V. Dolan
Superintendent of Schools
