East Islip Middle School students running in the 2012-2013 student government elections have ensured their classmates are well aware of not only who they are but also what their positions on the issues are. The 15 civic-minded middle schoolers created videotaped campaign speeches during visits to East Islip High School’s video production studio on Oct. 24 and 25. The speeches were filmed under the guidance of high school technology teacher James Connell by two of his video production students, junior John Callagy and senior Brian Potter.
