Recognizing their hard work and academic diligence, a total of 40 current East Islip High School students were named AP Scholars for 2019 by the College Board. The Advanced Placement Program recognizes several different award levels for college-level student academic achievement on AP courses and exams.

Nine students – Patrick Colleary, Sean Colleary, Stephanie Leddy, Julianna Longo, Caroline Meehan, Tyler O’Neill, Justine Rizzo, Christina Rooney and Margaret Tadlock – were named 2019 AP Scholars with Distinction. 

Five students – Taylor Capozzoli, Shannon Dodenhoff, Brandon Keaney, Leah Neville and William Rost – were named 2019 AP Scholars with Honor. 

Twenty six students – Justin Anderson, Gianna Armstrong, Nicholas Baldino, Thomas Boyd, Alexandra Bunde, Traci Byrnes, Joseph Cassiano, Allison Chiarelli, Gianni Cottone, Thomas D’Addario, Imma Esposito, Sofia Ferrezza,  Peter Gerace,  Benjamin Hutter, Brittany Klub, Robert Kreush, Colin McCarthy, Andrew Meehan, Peter Miglionico, Neel Patel, Nicole Serino,  Kaitlyn Tergesen, Christian Tuck, Kasey Turtell, Henry Walsh and Samantha Winegard – were named 2019 AP Scholars.
