Principal’s Message…

Dear Parents/Guardians:

April is National Poetry month. Many of our students have been reading their original works to our school community along with morning announcements. It is a joy to see students excited about a literary genre that helps to express their thoughts, emotions and at times, their humor! Poetry is a wonderful vehicle for practicing enriched language, memorization and creativity.

I have asked students to send their original poetry works to my office for display. Please encourage your children to participate in National Poetry Month by writing an original poem at home and sharing it with us at Timber Point. The poets of the PAST have given us much insight to the world around us. The poet, Wm. Blake, invites us to visit a child’s world when he writes,

“…come, see a world in a grain of sand

Heaven in a wild flower

Hold infinity in the palm of your hand

Eternity in an hour…”

I look forward to the works of our Timber Point students…the poets of TODAY & TOMORROW!

Warmest Regards,

Margaret Ann Harper, Principal
