In an effort to enhance communication with students, parents, and the community, the East Islip Union Free School District is proud to announce the launch of the “Virtual Backpack.”

The Virtual Backpack will contain the important notices, fliers, forms, principals’ newsletters and other materials that are sent home with your child from the school's main office. This allows you the opportunity to keep up-to-date with school activities and announcements with just the click of your mouse. The Virtual Backpack will also have information for the East Islip community and the entire school district as well.

Parents of middle and high school students can now find online many of the letters that have traditionally been mailed home. The Virtual Backpack page is organized by school and can be accessed by clicking on the specific school below or on the left side of each school's homepage.

The school district also receives requests from other organizations to distribute informational materials to students. The Virtual Backpack will provide staff members and parents an alternative way to access information that has been distributed in the school district by the PTA, district organizations, nonprofit organizations, intergovernmental agencies, local businesses and business partners. Letters, fliers, fundraiser notices, etc. will be posted on the website as they are distributed in the district.

All requests to distribute information must be approved by the superintendent. Contents will be added on an ongoing basis.
