East Islip's For the Kids Foundation will hold its 18th annual Black Tie Gala at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 20 at Villa Lombardi's in Holbrook. The Gala, whose theme this year will be "The Roaring Twenties," is the FTK organization's premier fundraising event to benefit students in the East Islip School District.
East Islip Middle School Principal Mark Bernard will be honored as Educator Advocate of the Year. James Bruno and Louis Bruno will be honored as Community Advocates of the Year.

FTK will hold a one-day Black Tie Gala ticket sale on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at East Islip Middle
School from 3:30-7:30 p.m.

The East Islip Board of Education's next monthly business meeting will
take place Thursday, Feb. 12 at 8 p.m. in the district office boardroom at 1
Craig B. Gariepy Ave. in Islip Terrace. It will be preceded by an executive session at 6 p.m. The community is welcome to attend.
According to a letter from Suffolk County Police Department Det. Margaret Kirk, a new format requires community members to access information on Level 2 and Level 3 sex offender directly from the Department of Criminal Justice website. Information on Level 1 offenders is updated and viewable on the district website here.
