The high school’s SADD club recently visited each fifth-grade class at JFK and RCK during the last day of Red Ribbon Week to discuss the hazards of alcohol, drugs, bullying and cyberbullying. SADD members encouraged the younger students to join clubs, participate in sports or get involved with community organizations instead of making poor decisions. The club also introduced the fifth graders to its annual Red Ribbon antidrug slogan contest, which will see two winners each chosen from JFK and RCK.

“This program is valuable to both the high school and elementary school students, as the high school students get to practice leadership skills and the elementary school students get to hear a great message,” SADD adviser Bridget Lopiccolo said. “I thank all the administrators, principals and teachers for supporting this program for the past 18 years.”
