Led by New York State Assemblyman Jarett Gandolfo, a group of local firefighters and police officers visited East Islip’s Connetquot Elementary School on Dec. 15, bringing holiday cheer and gifts for children in need. Students brought out homemade thank-you cards to hand out to each first responder.

“We are so appreciative of our fire, police and local officials thinking of the youth of the East Islip community at this time of year,” said Connetquot school psychologist Rebecca Wade.

“Thank you to Assemblyman Gandolfo for organizing this program to help make families truly have a happy holiday,” Principal Nick Bilotti said.
