East Islip High School senior bowler Kristy Murphy signed a national letter of intent on April 4 to play for Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island, where she plans to major in literary and cultural studies.

The captain of EI’s girls bowling team, Murphy earned All-County, All-League and Scholar-Athlete recognition during her high school career, and was a key member of the 2021 county championship team. In academics, she earned high honor roll and is a member of the school’s Art Honor Society and Tri-M Music Honor Society. She also serves as vice president of the Key Club and is a member of the Class of 2022 Club and East Islip High School Chamber Orchestra.
