The East Islip Ice Hockey Chiefs won the CAN/AM Challenge Cup gold medal at the at the Olympic Center in Lake Placid on April 3.

The varsity club team won three playoff games in a row – beating the New England Stars by a 6-0 score and CT Mayhem by 7-2 on April 1, and the Boston Jr. Terriers by 6-5 on April 2 – to head to the championship game for the Grenoble 16U League. In the finals, the Chiefs again prevailed against the Mayhem, winning 4-2 to claim gold.
