East Islip High School’s National Honor Society recently held its annual book drive. More than 300 books of all kinds were collected and donated to the Book Fairies, a nonprofit organization that collects and donates books to libraries and schools in communities in need. Their mission is to foster literacy and academic success, provide a respite from personal struggles and nurture a love of reading across age groups. As of 2022, they have donated over 3 million books.

“We are happy to contribute to this great cause and thank everyone who donated,” said student project leaders Julia Geyer and Madison Kiernan.
