East Islip High School welcomed 69 new members to the National Art Honor Society during a June 6 induction ceremony led by advisers Dan Figliozzi and Heather Toomey.

Following the traditional candle lighting and presentation of the society’s flower, the red carnation, NAHS President Thomas Henderson led the new members in the society’s pledge, which affirms that the inductees will strive to “help to create a more beautiful world for myself, for humankind, for all living things.” Seniors in the NAHS also received rainbow cords to wear at graduation.
