In spite of the pouring rain, the first day of the 2022-2023 school year in East Islip found students returning to the district’s six buildings – East Islip High School, East Islip Middle School, John F. Kennedy Elementary School. Ruth C. Kinney Elementary School, Connetquot Elementary School and Timber Point Elementary School – with renewed excitement, ready to make friends and continue their learning journey.

“It was a wonderful day to meet new people and reconnect with friends,” JFK Principal Deborah Smith said. “Our school was radiating positivity. We are looking forward to many new learning experiences this year.”

“We had such an amazing first day of school,” Timber Point Principal Danielle Naccarato said. “It may have been raining outside, but the sun was shining in the halls of Timber Point. Students and staff were smiling and ready for a great year ahead.”
