Thirteen dedicated East Islip students – Alex Agati, Emily Alexander, Katie Burke, Traci Byrnes, Nick Carney, Laura Coffin, Sarah Commisso, Beth Hillman, Emma Hillman, Sarah Hillman, Richie Hughes, Megan Lombardi and Jake MacMorris – volunteered to help at the annual clothing drive hosted by the East Islip Music and Arts Program Support group, also known as eiMAPS.

Music teacher Chris Neske assisted in coordinating the volunteers’ efforts at the Jan. 30 event, held at the district’s middle school. The needed garbage bags and zip ties for the project were donated by Home Depot. All proceeds from the drive will be used for programs and scholarships for district music and art students.

“Thanks to the support of the community, the clothing drive was a huge success,” said eiMAPS representative Linda Hillman.
