Author Visit: The middle school, FTK and the East Islip Public Library proudly announce they will host “New York Times” bestselling author Adam Gidwitz, who will be presenting at the middle school and the public library on Dec. 8. If you would like to attend, you must sign up in the library and get a permission slip. There will be two presentations. Periods 8 and 9 are considered an in-school field trip. After school, from 2:40-3:30 p.m., is available for district staff members as well as students. We are selling his books at a reduced price. Pick up order forms in the library. Orders must be received by Nov. 16 and will be delivered to the school. See Mrs. Ware with any questions. Click here for more information, permission slips for the in-school and after-school presentations, advance book order form, and a "Times" review.

Pet Toy Drive: To honor the memory of Ms. Wendy Rauh, the EIMS Leaders Club will be collecting items for the Islip Animal Shelter from Dec. 5-16. For a complete list of items, please see the flier in the middle school virtual backpack on the district website. Join us at the Islip Animal Shelter on Dec. 17 at noon for a special tribute to Ms. Rauh before we give our donation. You are also welcome to visit the animals, too.

Renaissance: Do you have what it takes to achieve Renaissance status? Requirements are: 1) No code of conducts, 2) No more than two latenesses, 3) no more than four absences and 4) no more than two missed homeworks in any one class.
