East Islip HS Italian Students Learn to Cook Cavatelli at Cooking Lab
East Islip High School language teachers Dr. Giuseppe Costa and Vanessa Salubro-Piskopus recently took their Italian sophomore students to the Cooking Lab Culinary School in Port Washington to explore food preparation techniques. The students learned how to make cavatelli pasta from scratch as well as a a butter sage sauce to compliment the pasta dish.
“It was an amazing time,” Dr. Costa said, “and the result was delizioso!”
