On October 6, the East Islip Middle School Book Club hosted an author visit with John Aldridge. Aldridge's book, A Speck in the Sea, is a story of survival depicting the night the author fell off his lobster boat in Montauk, NY and survived over 12 hours in the water before being rescued by the Coast Guard. 

The book club's members asked questions specific to the book and his experience in the water. At the end, students took photos with Aldridge and got their books signed.
