East Islip High School junior Cormac Zusmer was named the winner of this year’s Rensselaer Medal as well as the University of Rochester's Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award.

At the Board of Education’s May 19 meeting, East Islip High School’s Class of 2026 valedictorian Liam Eichler and salutatorian Angel Mai were recognized fror their hard work in earning this remarkable achievement.
 

East Islip High School’s mock trial team concluded another outstanding season with a second-place finish last month at the 52nd annual Long Island Law Day Mock Trial Competition.

East Islip High School athlete Payten Tidridge was named the New York Jets High School Player of the Week for her recent performance against Sayville, where she racked up two interceptions, seven flag pulls and one sack.

In recognition of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 2026, East Islip High School participated in Justice for All’s Law Day, with United States District Court Judge Sanket Bulsara of the Eastern District of New York and attorney Alexander Eleftherakis visiting the school’s auditorum on May 15. 

East Islip High School senior Chase Wulfken recently elected to renovate some of the school’s courtyard benches for his Eagle Scout service project. 

East Islip’s youngest students explored many exciting future possibilities during two Career Day events, held at Connetquot Elementary School in April and Timber Point Elementary School in May.

East Islip High School’s girls varsity golf team capped off an outstanding season with a 9-3 record, finishing second in the league. 

In recognition of Youth Service Month, officers from East Islip High School’s Interact Club were recognized for their outstanding dedication to community service.

East Islip High School held a signing day ceremony for student athletes, hosted by Athletic Director Stephen Restivo on May 19 in the school’s Forum.
