It was a picture-perfect homecoming for East Islip’s school community on Sept. 27, beginning with a pride-filled parade and ending with a decisive 61-21 football victory.

From Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, students at Connetquot Elementary School are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month in music class with teacher Christina Sangeniti.

East Islip recently brought in Port Jervis educator Andrew Marotta for a September series of seven energetic, interactive “Being a Winner, With and Without Your Cellphones” presentations at East Islip Middle School and East Islip High School.

The district honored its Board of Education at the Oct. 9 meeting in conjunction with School Board Recognition Week, and the Board recognized East Islip High School freshman Patrick Chocko and its All-State and All-County musicians. The For the Kids Foundation also presented the Board with a $64,000 donation check.

In just two days, members of East Islip High School’s National Art Honor Society transformed a once-blank wall in the Student Support Center into a vibrant and welcoming mural.

East Islip High School seniors Joesuf Ahmad and Liam Eichler have earned national recognition as Commended Students in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program.

 Students from East Islip’s four elementary schools recently attended a special event at the East Islip Public Library, where they had the exciting opportunity to meet popular author Jen Calonita. 

The East Islip Middle School library was filled with pride and celebration during this year’s Commanding Night on Oct. 15, honoring 18 ENL students who achieved the Commanding level on the NYSESLAT.

East Islip Middle School’s pond has been beautifully restored into a serene home for wildlife, student art and hands-on science learning.

Connetquot and Timber Point elementary schools were filled with excitement and hands-on learning as students recently took part in Fire Prevention Week activities.

John F. Kennedy Elementary School came together in a bright show of unity on Oct. 22 to celebrate Unity Day.

East Islip High School’s annual College Fair was held on the evening of Oct. 21, drawing a strong turnout of students and parents eager to explore future educational opportunities.

Students at Timber Point Elementary School had a frightfully fun time during the school’s annual Halloween Fall Fun House.
