East Islip Tri-M Students Mentor Younger Musicians at Mock NYSSMA

The East Islip High School Tri-M Music Honor Society hosted its third annual Mock NYSSMA this month, providing the district’s elementary and middle school students with a valuable opportunity to prepare for this week’s New York State School Music Association Festival. Tri-M students worked with the younger East Islip musicians to offer feedback, encouragement and performance tips.
 
“The goal of this collaborative experience was to help build confidence and readiness for the NYSSMA Festival, and to highlight the strong sense of mentorship and community within our district’s music program,” music teacher Giovanna Ruggiero said.
