At its annual meeting on May 5, the Suffolk County Bar Association formally recognized the East Islip High School mock trial team for capturing the Suffolk County Mock Trial Championship. SCBA President Patrick McCormick, along with county coordinators Leonard Badia, Jessica St. Germaine and Glenn P. Warmuth, joined Suffolk Academy of Law Dean Jason A. Stern and Executive Director Cynthia Doehler in praising the team's exceptional performance while presenting the championship trophy and plaque.

The Bar Association also honored junior Olivia Stepanenko with the Outstanding Attorney Award, naming her Suffolk County’s top student attorney. Additionally, longtime coach and teacher Patsy Lester was recognized for 25 years of distinguished service in legal education and dedication to the mock trial program.
