From Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, students at Connetquot Elementary School are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month in music class with teacher Christina Sangeniti. Through hands-on experiences, students are exploring Latin and Hispanic culture by playing traditional instruments like maracas, claves, castanets, guiros and cabasas. They are also learning to sing in Spanish and performing folk dances such as La Raspa.
“This celebration offers a fun and meaningful way for my students to connect with and appreciate diverse cultures through music,” Sangeniti said.
