In a terrifically tasty art project, second graders at Connetquot Elementary School recently used their imaginations to design new doughnut flavors. North Fork Doughnut Company in Bay Shore chose one design from each second-grade class to make into real doughnuts, which were sold at the store over the weekend of Feb. 28 to March 1. The winning doughnut designers were Sophia Castronova, Marcelo Cohen, Ethan Holleran, Luke Mohan, Giavanna Santelli and Hailey Windser.

“The students’ designs came to life, and they were able to eat their imagination,” said art teacher Christina Spera-Bartlett, who has been collaborating with NoFoDoCo on this lesson for the last five years.
