East Islip High School’s varsity cheer team, coached by Ariel Scharfschwerdt, recently earned two bids to compete at the Universal Cheerleaders Association’s National High School Cheerleading Championship, to be held Feb. 6-10 at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.
