East Islip High School’s annual College Fair was held on the evening of Oct. 21, drawing a strong turnout of students and parents eager to explore future educational opportunities. Hosted in the high school cafeteria, the event featured representatives from over 100 colleges, universities and military branches from across the country, making it one of the school’s most extensive and engaging fairs to date.
Families had the opportunity to meet directly with admissions representatives; ask questions about academic programs, scholarships and campus life; and gather valuable materials to aid in the college decision-making process. The fair was designed to support students and parents as they navigate the next steps after high school.
One of the evening’s highlights was a financial aid presentation led by a representative from Hofstra University. The session provided attendees with a thorough overview of FAFSA, scholarships, grants and strategies for managing college costs. East Islip school counselor Jessica Pignataro also hosted an informative NCAA presentation, offering guidance to student-athletes and their families about eligibility, recruitment, and academic expectations at the collegiate level.
“This was more than just a college fair, it was a full-service evening that gave students and their families the tools they need to start making informed decisions about their futures,” Director of Careers and Student Services Dr. Jason Stanton said. “With its wide range of participating institutions and targeted presentations, this year’s College Fair reaffirmed East Islip’s strong commitment to college and career readiness. The event continues to grow each year, providing students with meaningful opportunities to plan for their next chapter.
