East Islip’s incoming freshmen took an important step toward the start of high school as the future Class of 2030 was welcomed for orientation on Aug. 27. Students began the morning with an overview of high school life before meeting with their guidance counselors and receiving their schedules for the year ahead. They also toured the building, visited classrooms and practiced using their lockers as they became more familiar with their new school.

“Welcome to our ninth graders and new entrants," Principal Anthony Montemarano said. “We are looking forward to a great year with some new and some familiar faces.”
