Nine outstanding senior athletes from East Islip High School signed national letters of intent to compete in Division I and Division II collegiate athletics during a ceremony held Dec. 16 in the school’s forum. Athletic Director Stephen Restivo welcomed the student athletes and their proud families as each commitment was formally recognized.
Signing to play at college next fall were Carly Amato (girls lacrosse; University of Massachusetts Amherst), Rocco Destefano (wrestling; Bloomsburg University), Krista Deutsch (girls soccer; Wagner College), Aidan Ierardi (lacrosse; St. Leo University), Justin Manfredi (boys lacrosse; Manhattan University), Jake Nieves (boys lacrosse; Holy Family University), Danika Tidridge (girls soccer; Boston College), Michael Tramaglini (baseball; Wagner College), Kayla Varga (softball; Stony Brook University).
“These students represent the very best of EI athletics,” Restivo said. “Their commitment and work ethic have earned them this moment.”
