East Islip High School held a signing day ceremony for student athletes, hosted by Athletic Director Stephen Restivo on May 19 in the school’s Forum.
Eighteen seniors were recognized for signing to play Division III college athletics this fall: Brooke Andresen (Arkansas State University, bowling), Dario Baerga (University of Valley Forge, baseball), Dylan Bayer (Sacred Heart University, football), Tim Coakely (SUNY Plattsburgh, baseball), James Downey (Saint Vincent College, volleyball), Marcus Duncan (SUNY Polytechnic, soccer), Julani Ellis (SUNY Geneseo, track), Patrick Gannon (Endicott University, football), Aidan Godbout (SUNY Oswego, swimming), Jude Harbison (St. Joseph’s University, volleyball), Christian Horeis (Long Island University, wrestling), Evan LaFata (Lynn University, ice hockey), Aidan McConnell (Mount St. Mary’s University, track), Grace Micali (SUNY Geneseo, track), Sara Pepp (SUNY Cortland, golf), Max Schwalm (Skidmore College, swimming), Jake Simmons (SUNY Cortland, football) and Kayla Stegna (SUNY Geneseo, flag football).
“Congratulations to each and every one of you – parents, coaches and our student athletes – for doing such a great job, culminating in going to play in college, which not many kids get to do,” Restivo said.
