Members of East Islip High School's National Art Honor Society participated in The Memory Project, a nonprofit initiative that connects students with children around the world through personalized works of art. The program aims to spread kindness, foster cultural understanding and create meaningful connections through creativity.
This year, National Art Honor Society students created portraits and artwork for 50 children in Honduras, using a variety of artistic mediums.
"It is an honor to participate each year in The Memory Project," National Art Honor Society co-advisor Heather Toomey said. "This year we had 50 children from Honduras that received beautiful gifts of artwork made in a variety of mediums by our National Art Honor Society students in our East Islip High School chapter.”
