East Islip HS Musicians Perform at Serenity Gardens Ribbon-Cutting

East Islip High School music students performed for the June 4 opening of Serenity Gardens at Brookwood Hall. The ribbon-cutting ceremony featured speeches from Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and various organizations that made the building of the park possible. 

The inclusive park was designed to welcome community members who are visually or hearing impaired, on the autism spectrum, or who suffer from Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, while also highlighting areas for seniors, veterans and the general public.

“We thank Supervisor Carpenter for inviting us to perform for the opening of this beautiful park, and our students are looking forward to performing in this space again soon,” Director of Art and Music Dr. Caitlin Hale said.
