The energy in the gym at East Islip High School was electric as the Physical Education Volleyball Championship brought the entire school together for an exciting recent schoolwide tournament. All students had the opportunity to compete, with teams battling within their class periods for a chance to advance.

After weeks of matchups, each class period crowned a winner that moved on to the championship rounds. The competition intensified as top teams advanced, culminating in the crowning of both an A Day and B Day champion. In the final showdown, the two teams faced off for the title of overall school champions.

In the end, the B Day champions – Brayden Bannen, Thomas Gomez, Haley Hannigan, Christian Horeis, Lily Kern, Owen Madden and Elea Pollock – rose to the occasion, securing the victory after a thrilling match defined by strong teamwork, skillful play and determination.

“Congratulations to the winners and to all participants for their effort, sportsmanship and enthusiasm,” physical educator Nicole O’Connor said. “This tournament was a true celebration of teamwork, perseverance and school spirit.”
