East Islip Middle School Students Prepare for Their Next Chapter

East Islip Middle School celebrated the accomplishments of its graduating eighth graders during a June 23 moving-up ceremony in the high school auditorium. The event honored students' academic achievements while marking an exciting milestone as they prepared to begin their high school journey this fall.

Awards presented to deserving students included the New York State Comptroller Award, New York State Civic Ambassador Award, New York State Attorney General Triple C Award, Suffolk County Executive Public Service Award, as well as subject and academic excellence awards.

“Get involved and don’t be afraid to challenge yourself,” Principal Tara Scully told the students. “Join a club, try out for a team, take a class that interests you and meet new people. Don’t let fear hold you back. While accomplishments matter, character matters most. Continue to work hard, believe in yourselves and lead with kindness, courage and integrity. Remember, no matter where life takes you, you will always be a part of the East Islip Middle School family.”

“Graduation is not the finish line, it is the beginning of the next chapter, and each of you has a bright future ahead,” Assistant Principal Nicholas Spiegler said.

“East High School Class of 2030, tonight we are here to celebrate you and your accomplishments,” Superintendent Paul Manzo said.  

“As you enter high school, challenge yourself and get involved in activities that interest you. These experiences will help you grow, build friendships and become well-rounded students. Every choice you make and every opportunity you embrace will help shape your future. Most importantly, enjoy every moment and cherish your accomplishments. We are proud of what you have achieved and look forward to seeing all that you accomplish in the years ahead.”
