East Islip High School senior Chase Wulfken recently elected to renovate some of the school’s courtyard benches for his Eagle Scout service project. Joined by other Scouts and friends, Wulfken replaced the existing wood with updated Trex composite decking donated by the school, as well as re-staining the other benches.
“I decided to go to the school because I wanted to give back,” Wulfken said. “I looked at the benches and they were in really bad condition. Now it’s ready for students to use it for whatever they need.”
