EI Students Step Into History During “Revolution 250 Day” Breakout Experience

The East Islip School District hosted “Revolution 250 Day: Breakout Experience” last month as part of its celebration of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution. The hands-on program was designed for students in East Islip High School and East Islip Middle School U.S. history classes.

Over the course of two days, seventh graders and juniors participated in Revolution-themed escape room activities. Classes gathered in the schools’ auxiliary gyms, where students worked collaboratively to solve historically themed challenges connected to key people, ideas and events of the American Revolution.

Each breakout activity was designed to reinforce content knowledge, critical thinking and teamwork while keeping the learning experience engaging and interactive for students.
