The East Islip School District proudly welcomed 17 new teachers on Aug. 26 to begin a two-day New Teacher Workshop. Facilitated by Wendy Frees and Jodie Macher, the program was designed to provide a thorough overview of the district’s instructional priorities, curriculum initiatives and supportive resources.
Throughout the workshop, new faculty members engaged in collaborative sessions focused on best instructional practices, classroom management strategies and ways to build strong connections with students, families and the community. In addition, the teachers were introduced to the district’s core values and vision for academic excellence, ensuring a strong foundation as they begin their careers in East Islip.
“Our school district is excited to welcome these dedicated educators and looks forward to the many contributions they will make in supporting student growth and success,” Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Administration Dr. Aileen O’Rourke said.
