Over 25 members of the East Islip Teachers Association attended the NYSUT Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk on Oct. 20, a beautiful day with blue skies up above and a sea of pink on the boardwalk of Jones Beach State Park. Members from the teacher, clerical, paraprofessional and teaching assistant units raised more than $3,000 to support the survivors, the fighters and the memories of those impacted by breast cancer.

“The day couldn’t have been more perfect,” EITA President Chris Neske said. “Our members really came out in full force, and I’m really proud of the donation we were able to make. We are already talking about increasing our donation and getting more members to walk with us next year.”
