Students from East Islip’s four elementary schools – Connetquot, John F. Kennedy, Ruth C. Kinney and Timber Point – recently attended a special event at the East Islip Public Library, where they had the exciting opportunity to meet popular author Jen Calonita and get a sneak peek at her upcoming release, “The Taylors.” 

Guided by Children’s Department Supervisor Lauren Scottaline and JFK library media specialist Eric Frank, the students also enjoyed making friendship bracelets and chatting with Calonita about her many beloved books. The visit provided the young readers with an inspiring experience that connected them with the world of storytelling.
