East Islip High School will contend again for the Suffolk County championship this Friday after beating North Babylon 38-12 in the Suffolk Division II football semifinals on Nov. 15. They had previously eliminated Bellport 35-21 in the first round.
Running back Ryan Parker proved EI's hero in the semis, scoring three touchdowns against North Babylon as well as three interceptions (including a 10-yard scoring return), 13 tackles and 145 rushing yards (including a 58-yard TD run). Quarterback Thomas Costarelli completed 9 of 11 passes for 161 yards and three TDs, while Jack Kalinowski racked up seven catches for 155 yards and two TDs.
East Islip (undefeated this season at 10-0) will play Half Hollow Hills East for the county crown, with the game at Stony Brook University set to kick off at 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22.
