East Islip High School Class of 2023 alumnus Louis Attard came back to the school on Dec. 20 to present an engineering design assignment to robotics and CAD students. Attard shared his experiences attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where he is currently pursuing a degree in aerospace engineering, and inspired the high schoolers by showcasing the robots he has been working on and discussing his involvement in various competitions. The students had the opportunity to engage with Attard as he guided them in designing theoretical parts for future robot iterations.

“It was a fantastic opportunity for my current high school students to see real-world applications of their studies and to learn from someone who has walked the same halls not long ago,” technology teacher James Connell said.
