As part of East Islip High School’s ongoing commitment to college and career readiness, students had the opportunity to visit several local college campuses this spring. On May 20, students toured Suffolk County Community College and St. Joseph's University, where they learned about academic programs, student life, admissions, and campus resources while exploring each institution's facilities. On June 4, they visited Farmingdale State College, gaining additional insight into the many academic and extracurricular opportunities available to prospective students.

East Islip’s school counseling team accompanied the students throughout the visits, providing guidance and discussing the college application process, financial aid and the importance of finding the right college fit. These firsthand experiences allowed students to envision themselves on a college campus, interact with admissions staff and ask meaningful questions about college life and academic opportunities.

“Experiencing a college campus firsthand helps students see what is possible for their future, said Director of Careers and Student Services Dr. Jason Stanton. “These visits provide valuable exposure to higher education, encourage students to begin thinking about life after high school and reinforce that college is an attainable goal with the right planning and preparation.”
